Day 3 - Friday, April 23, 1999

Morning working group: Concrete Experiences of Protection in Panama, Australia and Canada

Objective: To raise awareness of the possibilities for action at the national level, particularly with respect to commercial trademarks and national legislation.

QUESTIONS:

  • What do commercial trademarks protect? What are their advantages and limitations?
  • What are some of the important elements in the examples presented? (What can we take from these three examples?
  • Afternoon working group: Strategies for Design Protection

    Objective: To discuss the possible actions at the local and non-legislative levels to reach action proposals.

    QUESTIONS:

  • Discussion of a guide of ethical principles to be used for contracts or commercial transactions.
